Gerunds

  Hello, my friends ! Another interesting lesson I learned today in my English class was about gerunds. I learned that a gerund is the -ing form of a verb that functions as a noun in a sentence. Examples of gerunds: - swimming.  - reading - walking - painting - running -doing -speaking  -fixing -trying -staying  Here are ways on how to use gerunds in sentences: Gerunds as Subjects: - Cooking is my favorite hobby. - Dancing makes me happy. - Reading helps you learn. Gerunds as Objects: - She enjoys painting. - They like swimming . - She loves dancing. Gerunds after Prepositions: - He is interested in learning. - They talked about traveling. - He is good at cooking. Gerunds in compound nouns: - A diving board is essential for a pool. - A talking doll is fascinating. Note: Gerunds are  not the same  as  present participles , which are used in continuous tenses.  Hello, my followers! 🌟 Today in English class, I learned about the four basic types of sentences. It was so interesting, and I want to share it with you! These sentences are how we express our thoughts clearly and correctly. Here's what I learned: Declarative Sentences  1. I like going to the beach on holidays. 2. He is reading a book in the library. 3. The weather is very nice today. Interrogative Sentences  1. When was the last time you went to the beach? 2. What time is it now? 3. What would you like to eat for dinner? Imperative Sentences  1. Please close the door. 2. Sit down and wait for me here. 3. Don’t make noise in the library. Exclamatory Sentences  1.
